Speaker Information:  Platon’s speech “Powerful Portraits: An Ultimate Look at Humanity” provides the audience with an inside perspective on some of our most powerful and influential people.  For Platon, taking a portrait is an intimate collaboration with his subject and a visual interview—both in front of and behind the camera. Having photographed world leaders, celebrities, our men and women in the military, civil rights leaders and human rights champions, Platon seeks to answer the question, “Who is this person?”

Dementia Care Services:

Every single day 8,000 people turn 65 for the next 18 years.  Researchers report that dementia is at epidemic proportion.  People are more frightened of being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias than Cancer.

Hebrew Health Care is taking a lead role in developing programs and services to ensure those who need assistance dealing with dementia receive the assistance that is needed.  Hebrew Health Care is one of only a few elder care facilities with a dedicated Director of Dementia Care.  Dementia Care is a focus throughout HHC’s constellation of services.  Hebrew Health Care’s Director of Dementia Care, Pamela Atwood, MA, CDP, LLC, is nationally and internationally recognized and has been appointed to the State of Connecticut Legislative Task Force on Alzheimer’s and Dementia.

Funds raised through Celebrate Life will enable HHC to carry out critically needed programs, offer services and treatments, and provide much needed support groups as well as education to those impacted by dementia.  To learn more about our Dementia Care Services and our educational courses offered through Aging Care AcademySM, a HHC program designed especially to assist family members caring for older adults, please visit www.agingcareacademy.org.

Support of Celebrate Life and HHC’s Dementia Care Program is greatly appreciated.  If you can’t attend but would like to make an outright gift to this year’s Celebrate Life please click here.  Gifts of $1,000 or more will be listed in the evening’s program.
