Bereavement Support Services

Hebrew Health Hospice provides a bereavement professional that works with patients and their families throughout the course of the illness and for up to one year following the death of a loved one. A bereavement professional can assist families as they are dealing with the anticipation of a loss. During this difficult time, the bereavement professional seeks to enhance communication between patients and their families, facilitate a life review and improve quality of life for both the patient and the patient's loved ones. After the loss, the bereavement professional is available to aid families in adjusting to life without a loved one, provide bereavement support and education. A bereavement professional is also a community resource to those in need of additional support.

Additional Bereavement Services include:

  • Bereavement mailings - grief support materials
  • Home visits, when appropriate
  • Bereavement support groups (open to community)
  • Annual Remembrance Service (open to community)
