Dr. Ava Pannullo, MD, Medical Director
Dr. Ava Pannullo is the Medical Director for the Hebrew Home and Rehabilitation Center and for The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care. She oversees the medical department as well as the treatment for all of the residents from the skilled nursing care units and the treatment for all of the patients on the medical and behavioral health units.
In addition to seeing her own patients, Dr. Pannullo is also directly involved in supervising the medical care of residents and patients who are assigned to other Hebrew Senior Care staff physicians.
In addition, Dr. Pannullo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University, and graduated from the New Jersey Medical School. She also completed her residency at the New Jersey Medical School, and earned a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine from the University of Connecticut Travelers Center on Aging.
Dr. Martin Cooper, MD, Behavioral Health Unit
Dr. Martin Cooper is the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Unit. Dr. Cooper has an undergraduate degree from Yale and graduated from UCONN Medical School. He completed a residency in Psychiatry and a fellowship in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry at UCONN. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the UCONN School of Medicine. In 2003, he was honored for career achievement by being named a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. In 2009, he was named Clinician of the Year by the American Association of Geriatric Psychiatry. Dr. Cooper is the Medical Director of Connecticut Mental Health Specialists.
Doreen W. Beattie, Vice President, Nursing Services, The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care
Doreen W. Beattie is the Vice President of Nursing for The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care. She oversees the quality and performance of both the medical and behavioral health units.
Ms. Beattie received her Diploma in Nursing from Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and as a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Administration from the University of Hartford. Doreen has 36 years of clinical and administrative experience in both acute care and long-term care settings in the Greater Hartford/New Haven areas.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Beattie was the Program Manager for the sub-acute rehabilitation unit at Hebrew Senior Care. During that time she also served as the Infection Control Practitioner.
Ms. Beattie is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. Additionally she previously published in the Dimensions of Critical Care Nursing.
Nick Tobin, APRN, Behavioral Health Unit
Mr. Tobin is a psychiatric nurse practitioner associated with Connecticut Mental Health Specialist group who provide psychiatric services for Hebrew Senior Care. He works primarily on the Behavioral Health Unit of Hebrew Senior Care.
Mr. Tobin received his RN license at Springfield Technical Community College and went on to receive a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in nursing form UMass Amherst. His APRN license was obtained from American Nurses Credentialing Center in adult psychiatric nursing in 2006 and again in 2008.
His hospital affiliations include Holyoke Medical Center, Hartford Hospital, Institute of Living and Hebrew Medical Center.
