The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care has a 23-bed Acute Care Unit (ACU) located on 1 Abrahms Boulevard in West Hartford.  Our Acute Care Medical Unit offers personalized care, a high nurse-to-patient ratio, and a quiet, healing environment for seniors with one or more chronic conditions who are experiencing an exacerbation of symptoms, and require specialized geriatric care.  The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care has a dedicated medical staff on site 24/7 and an interdisciplinary team of nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists and social workers led by physicians who are board certified in internal medicine and geriatrics. The Acute Medical Unit of the Hospital of Hebrew Senior Care ranks #1 in the State for quality of reduction in hospital acquired infections for 2017 according to the CMS.   

What is Acute Medical Care?

Acute care is around-the-clock hospital-level care to help patients recover from medical conditions such as:​

  • ​​Congestive Heart Failure
  • Upper Respiratory/Pneumonia/Flu
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Dehydration
  • Delirium​/Altered Mental Status
  • COPD
  • Pain Management
  • Acute Hospice: end-of-life care or symptom management

How Can I Admit Someone to The Hospital at Hebrew Senior Care?

  • Patients can be admitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week by contacting Central Intake at 860-218-2323.  
  • Your primary care physician will make arrangements with Hebrew Senior Care's Central Intake Department.
