Every other Saturday and Sunday 7:00am-9:30pm


Demonstrates knowledge and applications of professional standards of care and nursing process in daily practice; Demonstrates accountability for personal and professional, ethical and legal standards; Provides for the safety and security needs of the patients and complies with all safety procedures ; Responds in timely manner to all alarms and call lights; Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy work environment by modeling the desired behaviors and encouraging those in others; Manages charge responsibilities of nursing unit,  supervises resident care delivered by the LPN and Certified Nursing Assistants and assumes responsibility for the delivery of care to all residents on the unit; Uses time constructively and performs responsibilities cooperatively; Reviews physician orders on assigned residents prior to care and requests physician's orders when appropriate to plan of resident care; Administers PO,IM,PR, topical, respiratory and intravenous medications within required timeframes; Responsible for the maintenance of all IV sites


REQUIRED: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut; CPR certified;  Acute and Psychiatric Nursing experience; Experience and knowledge in caring for patients diagnosed with Psychiatric and Behavioral related diseases; Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing; Strong interpersonal skills; Basic computer skills/knowledge; ability to triage, multitask, and delegate

DESIRED:  ACLS; CPI-certified; Experience in gerontological nursing preferred
